DC have posted a series of conversations with artists this week.
First up was Chris Burnham on Batman Incorporated: “We’re throwing everything we can think of at the wall and I’m pretty sure most of it’s sticking. It’s exciting, dramatic, funny, violent, deadly serious, utterly ridiculous, and, hopefully, moving. We’re doing our darnedest to dress the entirety of human experience up in tights for 20 pages a month and punch it right in the teeth.”
Next up was David Finch on Batman: The Dark Knight: “Gregg Hurwitz coming on to BATMAN: THE DARK KNIGHT is a total game changer for this book. His stories are vicious, cruel and dark, but they are also incredibly humane and insightful and well written. I don’t think that I need to tell Gregg Hurwitz fans how great a writer he is, but for those comic book readers who have not had the chance to experience his work, it’s going to be a big surprise and a hell of a ride”
And finally Travel Foreman on Birds Of Prey: “I’m having a tremendous time taking on the BIRDS OF PREY characters. Its so rare that I get to draw a Superhero book that I’ve forgotten how great it is to draw capes and costumes. This is a bittersweet situation because Jesus Saiz was doing such pitch-perfect work on the book, but I hope people will enjoy my work on these issues”
