The wait is over – it’s time, once again, for Cover Of The Week!
We all love a good homage, and a good homage is what we’ve got with creator Tim Seeley‘s ‘Janet’-esque cover to Hack/Slash #20 and Luke Ross‘s sweet Rocketeer / Dave Johnson inspired Red She Hulk #59 variant. Skottie Young continues his unique ‘baby’ variants for the new Marvel NOW! titles, and this week we’ve included his amusing entry for X-Men Legacy #1. We’re all big fans of Terry Dodson and couldn’t pass up his 60’s-tinged, patriotic (to us anyway) front for Gambit #5, nor J.P. Leon‘s excellent industrial style on the brilliant Massive #6. Greg Capullo gets a mention for a great cover to Batman #14, showcasing the Joker orchestrating the ‘Death Of The Family’ storyline. Grab it while you still can.
Despite the high quality of the other covers on display, one piece of art knocked us for six. While not technically a comic, the winner of Cover Of The Week adorns the first of a three-part original graphic novel series and we simply had to include it. The accolades belong to…
…Lee Bermejo for the absolutely beautiful cover to The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo Vol.1. Stunning artwork and excellent typography combine perfectly on this one! Do you agree?
Congrats to Lee and DC Vertigo, they get the paper crown this week!
