The Best Comic Book Covers of 2014 – Week #6
After a series of brilliant covers by Darwyn Cooke, Mike McKone is continuing the high standard with this fabulous masked/unmasked abstract portrait on issue #28.
Ulises Farina’s front for Judge Dredd: Mega City Two #2 is an absolute treat. The idea of paper dolls has been used on comic covers before, but to use Dredd as the basis is comedy genius. Make sure you click on the gallery below for the full image!
Mighty Avengers #6 features a great character composition from Greg Land.
Focussing on the lightning bolt on the t-shirt of new Ms Marvel, Kamala Khan, Sara Pichelli has illustrated the character beautifully.

Using the black/white contrast, Amanda Conner has cleverly incorporated the comic title into the cover of Painkiller Jane: Preice Of Freedom #4. Oh, and it’s got her unmistakable, wonderful artwork on there too!
Cover by ADAM HUGHES
Adam Hughes wins this week with a fine, colourful portrait of a gun-toting lady on the front of Fairest #23. Look carefully, as the semi-silhouette contains images of the rats featured in the issue!
Congrats to Adam and DC Vertigo, they get the paper crown this week!
