The Best Comic Book Covers of 2013 – Week #43
‘Aquaman #24’ features a great cover to kick us off this week from Paul Pelletier – a classic hero composition with everyone’s favourite lord of the seas.
Harking back to Jim Lee’s fabulous cover on the debut issue of this series, Ivan Reis has produced a brilliant, alternate, ‘Forever Evil’ themed front for ‘Justice League #24’.
Dave Johnson never fails to produce very cool covers, and his work on ‘Kiss Me, Satan #2’ is no exception, showcasing Verona and her witches in a very, very stylish front.
Matt Kindt’s cover work for ‘Mind Mgmt #16’ fantastic. The illustrative style works in harmony with the text and aging to perfectly capture the look of a time-worn vintage copy of a lifestyle magazine such as ‘Life’.
Steve Epting has provided a bold and stylish character composition for the first issue of his new spy-thriller series with Ed Brubaker, ‘Velvet’. Featuring the main protagonist Velvet Templeton front and centre, the cover acts as an enticing ‘movie-poster’ to this excellent comic book that, hopefully, you are all reading.
