Often the subject of derision, the superhero videogames genre received a huge boost back in 2009 thanks to Rocksteady Studios and their game, Batman: Arkham Asylum.
Garnering near universal critical acclaim, there have been two further entries in the franchise, 2011’s Arkham City and 2013’s Arkham Origins, while the latest title, Arkham Knight (trailer below), is scheduled for released in late 2014.
For fans of the Batman: Arkham franchise, DC have produced a number of books set in the same Bat-Universe as the games.
First up is Batman: Arkham City, a book bridging the gap between the first two entries, written by Paul Dini. Following on from this was the Arkham Unhinged 15-issue comic series written by Derek Fridolfs. Unhinged acts as an expansion on the Arkham City game, with stories spinning directly out of in-game events or acting as pre-game flashbacks. Finally DC also released Arkham City – End Game, a tale set after the events of the second game.
These great stories are collected in the Arkham City and Arkham Unhinged trade paperbacks, all available from us via our online store and retail outlets. They are also available digitally in our ComiXology Digital Store.
