2012’s fantastic crossover event, ‘Avengers vs X-Men’, featuring writers and artists such as Brian Michael Bendis, Ed Brubaker, Jonathan Hickman, John Romita Jr and Adam Kubert, was incredibly popular for publisher Marvel. Revolving around Hope Summer’s transformation into the Phoenix, the series pitted Cyclop’s X-Men, who believed that Hope was the new mutant messiah in need of protection, against Captain America’s Avengers, assembled to take the would-be Phoenix into custody in order to keep the world safe from the potential harm she could cause.
